我们常说,做好翻译需要三个方面的能力:语言能力、翻译能力和常识。常识指的是对每个学科或领域有一般性了解,对事物有逻辑分析与判断能力。所谓批判性思维,常常发生在这个环节。目前翻译中出现的错误,很多是译文逻辑性及合理性的问题。究其原因,应该是对原文理解不透,按照字面理解的意思对应地进行处理,只重视形式,却忽视了内涵,导致译文的表述不够合理。再加上译者自身的英文语感不强、敏感度不高,出了问题也难以发现。
